The government-issued Hope of a Nation posters were used in a classroom setting to motivate sound thinking, good character building and the belief in an optimistic future. Approximately 30 images were created; these two are from 1929, the beginning of the Great Depression and a decade before the onset of WW II. Mr. Knowledge looks strangely uncomfortable!
