A fascinating post. These group of 7, whom i refer to as the Canadian Ash Can school, are still pretty affordable compared to the American group of 8. Of course their scenes weigh heavily to more landscape than cityscape, as it is Canada we are talking about....

I'm especially intrigued by the paintings of Lawren Harris. His landscapes were stark and abstract, and nearly sculptural in feeling.
